December 2014
Present:
Kohut, Teodoridis, Kaluzny, Vassallo (officers) and residents Sarna, Hagey, Zak, Swartz – absent Lourim (officer)
Host: Chris Hagey
Reports:
Cristian Teodoridis, on TEHA website (www.troyestates.com):
many requests for TEHA directories
financial reports reported on website
pictures of residents at events
Troy Police Crime Alerts which highlights types and locations of Troy crimes
Lourim (Kohut reporting) on info up-date on residents:
info now more current
residents’ email addresses enable them to get email blasts
Joseph Vassallo on treasury:
current balance $1,103
dues statements to go out mid-January for 2015 dues
money spent in 2014 on Condor Island landscaping and maintenance
Todd Kaluzny on newsletter:
final newsletter for 2014 coming soon
Todd will become “Roving Photographer” and give up doing physical newsletter due to his time constraints – a VOLUNTEER for this position is requested
Carol Kohut on Christmas Lights Contest (judging will be done around Dec. 20 with $ prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places) – decoration of our new FIR TREE on Condor Island will begin (Carol to put out an email blast to that effect)
New Event Dates for 2015:
Sub Garage Sale will be May 15, 16
Easter Egg Hunt will be April 4
Ice Cream Social will be some date in Sept., hosted by the Sarnas on Caliper
Halloween Parade will be on Oct 31
TEHA Annual Meeting will be in early Dec.
Christmas Lights Contest (judging again about 5 days before Christmas)
Other Items:
Dues for 2015 will be in part spent to beautify some private islands that are overgrown, unattractive, as well as maintenance of our 2 entranceway islands
Additional funds to be spent on other endeavors – group decided that another meeting should be held in 2-3 months to discuss possible ways to spend dues - Chris Hagey offered to host this meeting
Suggestions: install sprinkling systems on 2 entranceway islands and a better lighting system on boulders, establish a TEHA scholarship
Residents’ comments:
Children in sub need LIGHTS on BIKES as it is a violation in Troy to ride a bike in dark without lights (parents can be fined)
Residents also cautioned that residents need to LOCK CARS if parking in driveways, streets (thieves will steal from unlocked vehicles, but won’t bother with locked cars)
Alex Zak volunteered to type out up-coming By-Law revision! Residents will need to vote on changes proposed. Current By-Laws are dated, unrealistic, not in line with modern goals of TEHA
Respectfully submitted,
Carol Kohut, President
