At the annual meeting tonight, the officers passed the budget and the 2019 events. Both of these can be viewed on our website; a copy of the events was distributed in your dues statement as well.

We then discussed our process for updating our dues list in a more efficient manner.

Discussion followed concerning the changes to the bylaws. There were no drastic changes in the bylaws but the group felt that it was important to update the bylaws to bring them in line with current practice. For example, the bylaws originally stated that the officers should meet 12 times a year, but we have been meeting quarterly because meeting together once a month has been difficult. The bylaws also required two secretaries but we have been functioning with only one secretary. We also eliminated term limits for the officers. The vote was taken after 8 PM tonight to amend the bylaws and it passed unanimously.

One more item: we are looking for a communications director. This officer would be responsible for a quarterly journal, posted online, full of news and pictures and articles concerning our subdivision. If anyone is interested, please contact me at 248-310-4855.

Our next event will be the Easter egg hunt at Boulan Park from 12 to 1 PM on Saturday, April 13. Let’s hope mother nature cooperates and gives us a nice sunny day!
